Shelly is our patient accounts manager and comes to us with 15 years of previous experience carried from the dental field. She claims that she "gets a great deal of satisfaction in solving difficult insurance and billing issues." What she probably enjoys more is spending a lot of time with her large family, relaxing at her koi pond, and taking long drives with the top down on her convertible.
Becky recently joined Long Family Eye Care and comes to us with several years of experience in the optical field (by the looks of her, she must have started when she was 5 years old?...). She is a wonderful optometric technician and she enjoys helping patients select the perfect frame, as well as, doing adjustments and pre-testing exams. Her hobbies include kayaking and hiking with her dogs near her home in Brown County.
Gretchen is our marketing and scheduling coordinator. She has extensive customer service experience and really enjoys meeting and helping new patients who call or come into the office. Her experience in marketing combined with her creativity have been a great asset to the practice. In her spare time she enjoys shopping and going to the park or pool with her two little boys, Roderick and Evan.

Doctors Angela and Jarrod Long graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 1996. They hold National Board Certification as Optometrists and current licensure to practice optometry in Indiana. Their professional memberships include the American Optometric Association, Indiana Optometric Association, and the Stonebelt Society of Indiana Optometric Association. They opened Long Family Eye Care in 1997 after residency training and exploring other modes of practice on the East Coast.
Prior to receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree, Doctor Angela Long was awarded her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1992. While in Optometry School, Dr. Angie cared for patients in clinics as far west as Utah and as far south as Biloxi, Mississippi. After moving to New York upon graduation, she worked in private practice concentrating on pediatric eyecare and contact lenses, while further honing her eye disease management and general optometry skills. Dr. Angie enjoys seeing a variety of patients, being with her daughters Emily and Madelyn, and gardening.
After graduating from Optometry School, Dr. Jarrod Long completed a Hospital-based/Ocular Disease Residency through the Veteran's Administration in New York. He lectured, published papers and posters, and treated patients with eye diseases such as glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. Also while in New York, he received Low Vision Certification through the Lighthouse Corporation and has now established himself as one of the few Low Vision Specialists in the area. Dr. Jarrod enjoys seeing a variety of patients, being with his daughters Emily and Madelyn, and sports of all kinds.
